Thomas is the founder of Verellen Law. His fascination with the intersection of global politics and the law emerged early in life, driven by a desire to understand how international frameworks and regulation shape our interconnected world.

Thomas earned an MSc in Global Politics from the London School of Economics and completed a PhD in Law at KU Leuven. Building on this rigorous academic foundation, he turned his focus to the practical complexities of EU and international law. Alongside leading Verellen Law, Thomas serves as an Assistant Professor of EU and International Law at Utrecht University, a guest professor at the Université libre de Bruxelles, and Managing Editor of the Utrecht Law Review.

His entry into migration law was both professional and deeply personal. After his partner, Laura, relocated to Belgium and they navigated the country's complex immigration system together, Thomas experienced the administrative hurdles and procedural nuances of the process firsthand. He recognized early on that clients—ranging from international businesses and scaling startups to foreign professionals and their families—need more than abstract advisory work: they require a sharp, empathetic, and strategic partner to guide them through Single Permits, visa applications, and cross-border regulatory compliance. He founded Verellen Law as a specialized boutique practice that blends high-level legal scholarship with an accessible, results-driven approach.

As a specialist in economic migration and administrative law, Thomas regularly advises clients and litigates cases where the stakes are high and administrative roadblocks arise. His ongoing involvement in legal research ensures he remains at the forefront of policy shifts, enabling him to deliver precise analysis and robust legal protection before regional authorities and administrative courts.
